I was quite pleased with Dr. Ally Tran's care today! I think she just started recently, but she seemed to be the most thorough optometrist I've had so far. Aside from the standard course of tests, she used some yellow dye to check for eye dryness, which was completely new to me. Turns out I had inadvertently complained about potential dry eyes when I mentioned a constantly teary left eye. After inspection she diagnosed this to be eyelashes that were pointed downwards, which may be causing irritation. Glad to be under her care today!

We have been going to Borel Eye Doctors for 5+ year. Love the friendly vibe of the staff and the warm atmosphere. We have seen 2-3 optometrists over the years. Love the thoroughness of the exam. We also order our glasses from there - great selection of frames and great pricing. Highly recommend them.

I went to Borel Eye Doctors to do routine checkup and getting new glasses. Dr. Helen Lam and the staffs were polite and professional. They go over my VSP coverage with me and help picked the best options for my lenses. They gave an estimate of about 3 weeks for the glasses to be completed, which is accurate. The frame selections are a bit limited, but I am able to find an Oakley frame that I liked.

Dr Tran is amazing! Warm, personable, and detail oriented. She took a complete history, did one of the most thorough eye exams I’ve ever had, and dialed in my prescription perfectly. She proactively decided to reach out to my PCP. Excellent communicator. Everyone working at this clinic was extremely warm and helpful. Highly highly recommend!

I was dissapointed to find that Dr. Marcie Arnesty retired 😭, she had been my eye doctor for 30+ years. The staff was very helpful with my confusion, help me find emails announcing retirement & Arrival of Dr. Chapman. Dr. Chapman was very good, courteous, and made me feel comfortable with the transition. She address all of my questions & concerns. And seem to have an understanding of my history after scanning my chart. They even adjusted my bent glasses without me asking. haha Overall, the staff was great. From the receptionist to the Dr. herself & everyone in between. And I believe I had an interaction with everyone in the office that day.

Micheal is one of the best eye doctors in the bay. Out of all the optometrists I’ve visited, he’s been the most attentive and most helpful. Micheal literally saved me for finals, i broke my glasses the week before finals and I came in late that night and he was able to get me a new frame and is still trying to figure out how to fix my old frames which are discontinued. Highly recommended borel eye doctors!

I have been going to Borel optometry for 12 years, I always have great experience with all the doctors. I was seeing Dr Mark before, she is experienced, patient and gentle. Now I am seeing Dr Tran, she is as well very attentive, efficient and patient. They both are very accommodate and pleasant to work with.

Dr. Ally Tran is a very good doctor! Incredible bedside manner, thoughtful, but efficient in her initial evaluation. Very collaborative in her approach and wanted to ensure I got the most out of the appointment. You can tell she's very passionate about what she does and cares about ensuring a positive patient outcome.

Great environment and service. The process was pretty easy and received great attention from Dr. Terri Mark. Also Kelly was attentive and exceptional helping me choose a frame that I liked and fit my face. I would highly recommend Borel Eye Doctors with your optometry needs.

office was a bit hard to find since the google street view is outdated fyi. it’s located in a shared building and the parking lot behind is veryy small. nevertheless i had a wonderful experience. everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable! dr. tran was very sweet and thorough, and michael was very helpful in walking me through selecting frames and lenses
